Geos is a simple yet engaging game on Neopets. While luck plays a significant role, your skill can make a difference in your victory.
Rules
Neopets doesn’t provide clear instructions, so here’s how to play:
- You need to complete four shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle, before your opponent does.
- Once you complete a shape, it locks in place, and your opponent cannot alter it (they’ll be notified of your completed shape).
- If you attempt to place a piece on a completed shape, you forfeit your turn.
- Placing a piece on an opponent’s unfinished shape ‘bombs’ it, removing that piece and allowing you another turn.
- The first player to complete all four shapes wins!
Tips for Success
- Decide between bombing and building. While you must build to win, bombing is essential if your opponent gains the upper hand.
- Start by building a rectangle, as it requires the most pieces (10), making it a solid first choice.
- Aim to complete at least two shapes before attacking your opponent. Many players start in the corners, so consider building in the edges or center.
- Continue building until you bomb or are bombed. After the rectangle, build the triangle, then the circle, and leave the square for last since it’s the smallest and easiest to fit.
- Keep multiple shapes in mind while building. If you hit an opponent’s completed shape, you might still complete another shape using the available pieces.
- When you bomb your opponent, consider your next move carefully:
- If you’ve just started a shape, it might be better to shift focus.
- If you’re close to completing a shape, finish it before returning to the square.
- Guess where your opponent is building and aim to destroy that shape, which is easier as the game progresses.
- The ideal scenario is to bomb your opponent’s shape while finishing your own. If you lead in completed shapes, you’re likely to win.
- If you fall behind:
- You must bomb your opponent’s shapes to stay in the game.
- Try to discern their building strategy and disrupt it.
- If you bomb successfully, aim to obliterate an entire shape.
- Even if they hit your pieces, it’s still beneficial!
