Kad Feeding Guide: Keep Your Neopet’s Kad Happy!

The Kadoatery is a special place where Kadoaties—a type of Petpet—wait for their owners while they are on holiday. You can find the game at Kadoatery. In the Kadoatery, you’ll see 20 Kadoaties eagerly waiting to be fed. If they don’t receive their desired food, they will become “very sad,” and you’ll see the specific item they’re craving displayed beneath their image.

However, if a Kadoatie has already been fed, you’ll see a different picture indicating their happiness. Be cautious, though! Often, 4 to 8 Kadoaties request expensive food items. Instead of buying these costly options, there’s a more affordable way to feed them. Just like the main shops, Kadoaties that have already been fed will occasionally request cheaper food items, allowing you to help them without breaking the bank. But act fast! All Kadoaties are typically fed within just 3 to 10 seconds. You can only feed one Kadoatie at a time, so you’ll need to refresh the Kadoatery page using the Refresh Pattern explained in the next section.

Understanding the Refresh Pattern Kadoaties do not request food at random; they follow a specific refresh pattern that has changed over the years. While this pattern may evolve, the current one has been stable for some time.

To determine when to refresh the Kadoatery page, head to the Game Neoboards and navigate to the last page. Here are some abbreviations commonly used in the Kadoatery discussions:

  • Kad: Short for Kadoatie.
  • RS: Restock; when Kadoaties request more food.
  • Main: A time when most Kadoaties restock.
  • Mini: A time when only a few Kadoaties restock, often due to someone feeding an unbuyable (UB) item.
  • Pend: The time between the scheduled main and when the Kadoaties refresh.
  • Overfeeding: Feeding more than the necessary 75 Kadoaties to reach the “Pink” status.
  • Pink: A term for users who have fed 75+ Kadoaties, earning them the Kadoatery Mew! avatar.
  • Mewbie: A newcomer to Kadoatery feeding, usually with 10 or fewer feeds.
  • UB: Unbuyable food worth 100k or more.
  • HN: Had Nothing; indicates you didn’t have the food the Kadoaties asked for.
  • CF: Congrats Feeders; a quick way to congratulate fellow feeders during a main.
  • Pwned: When someone beats you to feeding a Kadoatie.

To know the right time to refresh, look for posts by a TimeKeeper, who will indicate when to refresh the Kadoatery page to feed Kadoaties. Their posts typically look like this: main pending rf @ :xx. For example, main pending rf @ :30 means you should refresh at the 30th minute after the hour. If you refresh and they’re not asking for food, add 7 minutes to the last refresh time until they do ask. Once you succeed in feeding a Kadoatie, wait 28 minutes before the next main refresh time.

Everything About Food Kadoaties request various food items, and you can find a comprehensive list of the items they have asked for at Phil747’s Page. Alternatively, Silverjojo’s Page categorizes these food items, making it easier to manage your inventory.

The Legit Way to Feed Kadoaties a) With Inventory The quickest method for feeding Kadoaties legitimately is to stock up on food items they frequently request. You can hold a maximum of 50 items in your inventory. Choose a category from Silverjojo’s Page and buy 50 items from that list, such as Faerie Food or Snow Food. Familiarize yourself with your inventory so you can quickly identify which Kadoaties to feed when you refresh.

For a quicker search, consider buying all items with the same keyword. For instance, if you buy only pizzas, you can use Ctrl + F to search for “Pizza” when refreshing the Kadoatery page, speeding up your feeding process.

b) With Safety Deposit Box (SDB) You can also feed Kadoaties using your SDB. Purchase a lot of food, store it in your SDB, and then open two windows: one for the Kadoatery and one for your SDB. When Kadoaties ask for food, copy and paste the item name from the Kadoatery into the SDB search bar, remove the item if you have it, and return to feed the Kadoatie. Ensure you do not set a PIN on your SDB for a smoother process.

c) With Shop Wizard If you’re quick, the Shop Wizard method can be effective. Refresh the Kadoatery page, copy the name of the requested item, and use the Shop Wizard to find and buy it. Make sure to preselect the “identical to my phrase” option before searching to save time.

What Happens After You Click a Kadoatie

  1. If You’re Successful: Congratulations! You’ve fed a Kadoatie.
  2. If You’re Unsuccessful: Don’t get discouraged—keep trying!
  3. If You Don’t Have the Proper Food: Remember to keep track of what Kadoaties are asking for and adjust your inventory accordingly.
  4. If You’ve Already Fed a Kadoatie: You can only feed one at a time, so be patient and wait for the next opportunity.

Rewards for Feeding Kadoaties Feeding Kadoaties may not earn you Neopoints, but you can achieve some great trophies and even an exclusive avatar for your efforts! Feed 75 Kadoaties to earn the Kadoatery Mew! avatar. Some players enjoy overfeeding for fun or recognition, but there are no additional rewards after obtaining the gold trophy and avatar.

Important Tips to Remember

  • Ensure you have fewer than 50 items in your inventory when using the Shop Wizard.
  • Avoid using a PIN on your SDB to save time.
  • Practice makes perfect! It may be challenging at first, but with experience, you’ll get the hang of it.
  • Always keep enough Neopoints handy—around 100k is a good target.
