Guide to Slorgs in Space

Introduction

Just like Attack of Slorgs, Slorgs in Space is a patience game with some simple strategies needed.

This guide aims to highlight some of the strategies involved to achieve enough points to get a trophy. With the review score being placed at 30000, you can get a gold trophy using this guide on the 1st day of the month when there’s no review of scores.

Special Items

Left Item: This rainbow coloured shot will turn into the same colour as the adjacent slorg you hit. It will destroy the slorgs if you hit on two adjacent same-coloured slorgs. This item is very useful in the beginning of the stages but you may need to avoid it towards the end of each stage.

Right Item: This hourglass allows you to slow down the slorgs so that you have more time to think about strategies and shoot appropriately. Always shoot at it whenever you see it.

General Strategies

1. The first thing you would encounter in this game is explosion. Once you destroyed any slorgs by having 3 or more slorgs adjacent to one another, the slorgs will be exploded and there will be a small hole between slorgs as shown in the picture below. If there are at least 3 slorgs of the same colour from both ends after the explosion, the front string of the slorgs will be dragged backwards and cause another explosion. The more chain explosion occurring at the same time, the higher your points and the lower the chance of you losing. This is because the slorgs will be pulled backwards so it takes longer for them to move in clockwise direction to get to the centre of the screen to win.

2. In order to achieve chain explosion, you need to realise that pairing up all the single slorgs is not enough, you would only be able to achieve single or maybe double explosion that way.

Below are some examples you can get chain explosion:

Red, Purple, Purple, Green, Green, Purple, Red, Red

Blue, Red, Red, Purple, Purple, Green, Green, Purple, Red, Blue, Blue.

You would realise that once such order is formed, you just need a Green Slorg to shoot in the middle to cause three to four chain explosions. Of course, it’s best to plan these orders in the beginning of the stage, if the slorgs moved too fast for you, then you have to quickly revert back to destroy some of them first before plan again. But try to keep to at least two explosion at a time.

3. After most slorgs are destroyed using chain explosion, you need to ensure that you are left with two colours of slorgs. As shown in the picture below, you can repeatedly produce and destroy slorgs before you destroy the last slorg to end the stage. After you shoot the blue slorgs at the 2 blue slorgs between red slorgs, you would be left with 2 red slorgs sandwiched between 4 blue slorgs. So if the next slorg is blue, you would shoot it at the middle of the two red slorgs. If the next slorg is red, you would shoot it after the last blue slorg. In this way, you would not destroy all the slorgs. After you do this alternate shooting for a while, you would have accumulated enough slorgs to do a double explosion while still leaving with two colours of slorgs. Then you just need to repeat the process until the slorgs almost reaches the centre of the screen. This will ensure that you scored maximum amount of points.
