How to get: Successfully obtain and send a score of 1200+ in the game Stowaway Sting

H. O. W. T. O. P. L. A. Y.

The actual game itself is very simple. Simply use your arrow keys to move scrap across the board. The goal is to make all the tile colors the same color. During the first three levels, you may cross over any wood square with no consequence. In later levels, if you cross a square you had already touched, it will turn back to the original wood color, making you have to hit the same square over again.

Your character’s name is scrap. He’s the one you play as during the game.

The Tiles are what make up the game board. Simply hop on them and they’ll change colors.

The Target Color is the color you are trying to turn the tiles. Simply hop on them until they change the color you need. To see what color you need to make the tiles, look towards the bottom left of the game board and it will show you. It is blue for most of the earlier levels.

In later levels, the target color changes to green.

The Health and Timer bars are essentially the most important part of the game. With no health, you lose. With no time, you lose. You get 60 seconds per level. Be aware of how much health you have and how much time is left at all times. If you don’t pay attention, you could end up losing when you never needed to.

Try to avoid the enemies. If you run into one, jump away as quickly as you can to keep your health up. Sometimes you cannot avoid enemies, just try to cross through them as quickly as you can though.

There are also obstacles all around the levels that you need to watch out for. The spikes sticking up will damage you, just like the enemies do, but in order to complete some levels you have to hop through them. Same rule applies for these as with the enemies, just hop through as fast as you can, if you cannot avoid them.

The holes in the deck are what you really need to watch out for. Fall through a hole and it’s game over. Carefully maneuver around these. I’ve had plenty of games with a score of 1k+ and I fell through a hole, ending the entire game.

I call them power ups, but you may call them what you wish. Regardless, they are how you survive and get high scores in the game. The heart (top left) restores your health to full when your health bar is in the red. They replace the diamonds when you are low on health. The NP Bag (top right) is one of the most common power ups. It gives you an extra 20 points. Try to get as many of these as you can. The Diamond (bottom left) is essentially how you get a score high enough for the avatar. These are worth 50 points each! Try to get these at all cost. The Orb (bottom right) is loved by some, and hated by others. It’s useful during the first three levels, but after that, it just becomes an inconvenience as it changes squares that you’ve already hit back to the original wood color. I personally never go for these.

These are just an easy way to basically guarantee you an avatar. You can obviously get a very low amount on one level, but get a high amount in another and it will even out. Use these as a general guideline.

Level 1. Try to collect 4 bags of neopoints. This should be easy as there are no enemies.

Level 2. Aim for around 5 bags of neopoints. Another easy level.

Level 3. Aim for 4-5 bags of neopoints. This is also the first level that you can see diamonds. Try to get at least 1 of these.

Level 4. Aim for 4-5 bags of neopoints. This is the first level where if you jump on a tile that you have already stepped on, the tile will change back to it’s original color. The rest of the levels will be like this. Aim for 2 diamonds this level.

Level 5. Aim for 4-5 bags and 2 diamonds on every level from here on out. This is generally a pretty easy level.

Level 6. Recognize this level? You should, it’s level 3. Go with the same strategy that you did with level 3, just watch your health. If you see a heart appear, try to grab it.

Level 7. This is generally the level where you reach the avatar score. If you are ~150 points away from the avatar, don’t worry about changing the tile colors and just focus on grabbing all of the bonus items that come up. Tiles will need to be stepped on twice during this level, so unless you are really getting the hang of this game, you most likely won’t pass.

Level 8. My least favorite level. If you made it this far, you either have the avatar already, or are almost there. Just go for the diamonds and bags of neopoints on this one. Unless you are going for a trophy, don’t bother with the squares.

T. I. P. S.

1. If you’re low on health, type in Scrap to restore your health completely.

2. If you’re on level 4+ and are having trouble hitting all the squares, remember you if you’re on the edge of the board you can jump away from the board (into the boundary) and it will change the color of your square. This becomes extremely useful when you mess your tiles up going for a diamond/bag of neopoints

3. If you see a heart come up, go for it. They are more important than diamonds most of the time.

4. Turn the music off, but keep the sound effects on. When a power up/enemy appears on the screen, it will make a noise, allowing you to know that something popped up.

5. Don’t hold the arrow keys down to move. Sometimes you will let go and go an extra space or two, making you run into an enemy, or even worse, into a hole. Press each arrow key down. Feel free to go as fast as you want.

6. And finally, just practice. I used to not be too good at this game, then I sat down and actually played it and realized how easy it really is.

Good luck everyone!
