The Neopian Lottery is run everyday around 8:51 pm NST (and gets later and later each day, by seconds). It costs 100 Neopoints per ticket to play. 20 tickets maximum can be bought.
Trophies
Bronze is any amount won up to 499,999 NP
Silver is your share (if others won too besides you) of 500,000 to 999,999 NP
Gold is your share of 1,000,000 or more
More Chances
After doing your twenty tickets, do a Coincidence quest for the possibility of getting FIVE (5) tickets
Also, try spinning the Wheel of Monotony and land on the gold ticket for another ticket
There’s a random event that can award you one free ticket with 6 random numbers. Even if you bought 20 tickets, all subsequent tickets won through random events are counted
Dice-A-Roo also gives lottery tickets
Avatar?
Avatar released: November 11, 2014
Solution: Win the lottery, any amount. Apparently, you have a 20 day window to collect the avatar before the day you won falls off the lottery page. Not retroactive, meaning past winners won’t be rewarded for past wins.
F.A.Qs
Why does the lottery page say it’s drawn at 4 a.m when it’s passed and I still have my tickets?
Since The Transition, some time-related things haven’t been put back to normal. These include the Neopian Lottery, the Wishing Well grant times and trophy award time which are all done around 8:25 pm NST (and am NST for the Well).
The lotto has been drawn but I can’t buy more tickets?
Ticket reset is at 12:00:00 am NST. You cannot BUY more than 20 tickets per day.
Is there a neomail that’s sent out to winners?
They don’t send neomails to winners, rather they send a real life e-mail.
I won the lotto but didn’t get the avatar? Do you have to get gold or a certain amount of NP?
The avatar has been fixed on August 31, 2018 to award it to ALL winners regardless if they were first listed or not and you have 20 days after you won to collect the avatar. It doesn’t matter how many matched numbers, how many winners, trophy level or the prize fund.
Is it better to do random picks from these pages or should I stick to 20 bookmarks?
To learn how to bookmark and easily open your 20 tickets daily, you can check this guide or my page. As to which is better, you can try both. Bookmark 20 tickets, and if you don’t win in 15-30 days try random picks from Saurich’s or Megaura’s page.
I had bookmarks from months ago but I get redirected to the Neopets homepage?
You need to add www. to get them to work, something changed after The Transition whether it was TNT’s intention or not, we know not.
The Number of tickets sold so far times 100 NP does not equal the Total Prize Fund?
You also need to add 5,000 as that is the bonus.
The Prize Fund divided by the number of Winners does not equal the Share, where do those extra Neopoints go?
I don’t know really but I am guessing nobody gets it so they are “destroyed” or gets sent to Elsewhere.
How come a username is shown twice or more sometimes? Do they get the share once or…?
They have a few tickets with many similar numbers and they get their Share as many times as their username shows up.
I had 4 numbers matching but I didn’t win?
You need to have the same as the Numbers Matched column which is the minimum, any less and you don’t win. There are usually 4, 5 or all 6 numbers matched. If nobody has at least 4 numbers matched, the lottery gets carried over with all of the tickets you bought. After midnight, you can buy 20 different tickets.
I have 21 or more tickets?
There is a random event that gives you a free ticket with random numbers or you spun the Wheel of Monotony and landed on the gold ticket or you did a Coincidence ticket and won five tickets or you played Dice-A-Roo.
What is “The Transition”?
Mid-September 2014, after Neopets (previously owned by Viacom) was acquisitioned by Jumpstart, The Neopets Team had to move everything from their former workplace to their new, current home. The process was only 2 days but the after-effect is currently being felt by everyone. Many previous fixes were undone. Glitches were abound and there was a lot of lag. Many problems have arisen and are still trying to be fixed or left on the wayside.
